🦶 Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

No referral is needed — you can book directly with us. If you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your GP (for example, for diabetes or arthritis), bring your referral form so you can claim the Medicare rebate.

How much does an appointment cost?

Fees vary depending on the type of appointment. You may be eligible for:

  • Medicare rebates (with a CDM plan)
  • Private health insurance rebates if you have “extras” cover for podiatry
  • DVA or TAC coverage if applicable

Please contact our team for an exact quote before your visit.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
  • A list of your medications and medical conditions
  • Any X-rays, scans, or medical reports
  • Your regular footwear (runners, work shoes, etc.)
  • Your GP referral, if you have one
What happens at my first appointment?
  1. Discuss your symptoms and medical history
  2. Examine your feet, legs, and walking pattern (gait)
  3. Explain your diagnosis clearly
  4. Develop a personalised treatment plan

You’ll usually receive treatment or advice at your first visit.

How long does an appointment take?

Most consultations take 30–40 minutes, depending on your needs. Follow-up appointments are often a little shorter.

Can I claim through my private health fund?

Yes — if your cover includes podiatry under “extras”, we can process your rebate instantly through HICAPS at the time of your appointment.

Do you bulk bill?

We don’t routinely bulk bill, but patients with a valid CDM plan from their GP can receive the Medicare rebate for up to five visits per year.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We understand things come up. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer your spot to another patient. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a small fee.

Is podiatry safe?

Yes — all our podiatrists are fully qualified and registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia. We follow strict infection control and sterilisation standards for every patient.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your condition. Some issues (like corns, calluses or nail care) can be treated in one visit, while others (such as heel pain, orthotics, or sports injuries) may require a few appointments. We’ll explain your treatment plan clearly at your first visit.
